The Walkabouts concentrate on things that concern everyone living in the area. They look at issues such as anti social behaviour, vandalism, graffiti, litter, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, overgrown or neglected communal areas. There are just 5 days left to bid for a share of £200,000 in grant funding from the Neighbourhood Fund 2013/14. We are looking for residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to submit bids for projects that will benefit people living throughout our communities. Applications for the fund, now in its fourth year, are judged by a panel of residents. Last year the fund provided healthy living sessions, improved communal gardens, funded community clean up days and provided diversionary activities …

A COPPULL grot spot has been transformed into a fabulous new £47,000 play area for children. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) joined forces with Chorley Council and Groundwork Lancashire West and Wigan to develop the old play area on Longfield Avenue into an exciting new one catering for children aged four to 12 years as well as completing the demolition of nearby garages, which were derelict and had fallen into a state of disrepair, to make way for off-street parking provision. …
