The Adlington in Bloom group received funding from Chorley Community Housing to create new plant beds on Rothwell Road, Anderton.  The plant beds were filled with winter roses and various other plants to brighten up a patch of grass opposite St Joseph’s school.  Samantha Hornsby, Neighbourhood Development Officer at CCH said, “It’s great to see a smaller project like this making such a difference to the local area.  Residents and visitors alike love the new additions which really seem to …

This is the first quarterly review of anti-social behaviour (ASB) activity reported to Adactus. The scrutiny panel on ASB recommended that information is made available on our website. In the period October-December 2014, there were 281 ASB incidents reported to Adactus. The most common kinds of nuisance reported were: noise (25%), verbal harassment/abuse (16%) and drugs/substance abuse (9%). We recently ran an Adactus500 survey to establish the most effective ways of scheduling gas appointments. We are required by law to service and test gas appliances in our properties every year and we would like to explore ways to help reduce the number of failed appointments. Adactus Housing Group has announced the launch of a £15,000 Green Grant scheme. Green fingered individuals, resident groups, community groups and garden clubs are invited to bid for the chance to secure one of thirty £500 grants which are set to be awarded through the scheme. CCH has funded several events and activities over the past few months for Network 50+ throughout Chorley.  The Network 50+ group supports older people and their families throughout the Chorley area, helping them to live healthy, happy and active lives.  The group received a £500 grant from CCH’s Neighbourhood Fund which was put towards armchair keep fit sessions, table top gardening demonstrations, history speakers, art and music classes and a Victorian workshop.
