Morecambe’s West End got all spruced up thanks to a community clean-up scheme funded by Adactus Housing and the West End Million. The pilot scheme saw local residents join forces with Adactus’s Breathe team and West End Million volunteers to work hard and fill six skips over the course of Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November in an attempt to clean up the area in time for Christmas.  Over the years, parts of Morecambe’s West End seemed neglected and plagued by fly tipping, dog fouling and littering. Yet more tenants from across the Group have recently benefited from using our free specialist Money Advice Service.   A tenant suffering from a rare disability was supported in applying for personal independence payments. Although, his previous application had been refused, our Money Advice Team appealed this decision at a tribunal.  With the decision successfully overturned, our tenant was awarded almost £4,000 in backdated benefits. We recently asked for our customers views on automated telephone systems, including menu systems controlled by key presses as well as voice recognition menu systems. We learned a lot from this the feedback, and the results were used to help us with a procurement process for new contact centre telephony software. On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on planned maintenance met at our head office in Leigh to continue their scrutiny. The main purpose of the interim meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the interim report produced by our internal affairs team, and to challenge the findings.
