On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on value for money in lettings met in Leigh for a final time to finish their scrutiny exercise. The main purpose of the final meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the final report produced by our internal affairs team, consider the recommendations, and add their own recommendations too. Work is continuing the Adactus500′s Scrutiny of Value for Money (VfM) in Lettings. Following on from the Scrutiny Panel’s interim meeting, our Internal Affairs team has been busy gathering further evidence to present to the Scrutiny Panel at their next meeting in mid September. The Walkabouts concentrate on things that concern everyone living in the area. They look at issues such as anti social behaviour, vandalism, graffiti, litter, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, overgrown or neglected communal areas. Buttermere Green attracted over 500 people when Chorley Community Housing (CCH) hosted the annual Chorley Moor Fun Day – their FREE, family friendly summer festival of fun. The event featured live music, inflatable slide, bungee run, pirate assault course, coconut shy, face paints, glitter tattoos, pocket money toy stall, freestyle soccer, first aid demos, information & advice stalls plus a delicious BBQ which was provided by local charity Living Waters Storehouse. The Chorley Community Housing (CCH) Neighbourhood Fund has recently funded the friends of Healey Nab group for the second year running. This years project involved 57 children from St James School taking a walk out in the countryside and looking for plant samples and bugs as part of the celebrating nature event.  The funding bought microscopes for use at this event and future events and the children also enjoyed an afternoon tea on returning to school.  All bugs were studied …
