A reading group, based at Wigan library, has been set up to cater for library users with differing levels of visual impairment. The reading group provides the opportunity to meet new people and share a passion for books. Adactus Housing Association awarded the library £800 from their Neighbourhood Fund to get the group started. The money has been used to purchase a variety of books in large print and audio format. The Adactus Housing Group Head Office and Adactus Housing Association regional offices will be closed during the Christmas and New Year Period. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) has recently awarded money from their Neighbourhood Fund to Albany Academy for computer courses for beginners. The courses cover basic computer skills, searching and buying products online and internet safety. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) has recently granted funding to The Arts Partnership for the second year running.  A £1200 neighbourhood fund grant was awarded to the group for 2 weekend residential trips. The project saw young people from the local community try out new, challenging activities such as kayaking, archery, low ropes, abseiling and bush craft.  They also went camping and enjoyed outdoor problem solving games.  The activities helped to build self confidence, social skills and also gave the youngsters …
