We recently asked for our customers views on automated telephone systems, including menu systems controlled by key presses as well as voice recognition menu systems. We learned a lot from this the feedback, and the results were used to help us with a procurement process for new contact centre telephony software. A group of 14 Adactus staff and residents from Miles Platting recently went on an educational trip to Viridor’s Materials Recovery Facility to find out what happens to all of Greater Manchester’s waste and recycling. The first stop was back to the classroom for an interesting workshop on what waste can be recycled and how.  This was followed by a fascinating tour of the recycling plant where everyone got a chance to see the machinery in action. On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on planned maintenance met at our head office in Leigh to continue their scrutiny. The main purpose of the interim meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the interim report produced by our internal affairs team, and to challenge the findings. Adactus has now awarded £57,000 for the Breathe Investment Grants (BIG) this year to worthy community projects across the Chorley area. BIG replaced the previous years Neighbourhood Fund and Green Grants with more money than ever awarded to the local area. The projects were voted on by a large panel of residents from the Adactus 500 involvement group and a huge response was received with many projects being marked as excellent.
