The Adactus Housing Group is working in partnership with the Association of Gas Safety Managers (AGSM) and CORGI to campaign for a change in the law to allow housing associations the same swift and efficient way to carry out gas safety checks as local authorities. We are very happy to report that the Adactus500 Scrutiny exercise on damp and condensation has been successfully completed. The Scrutiny Panel, made up of eight residents from across the Adactus Group, met over three meetings between May and July and produced a set of recommendations for our Board members to consider. These recommendations, and the response to them from Adactus management, were presented to the Group Audit Committee in August. Adactus Housing Association has granted funding to the Clitheroe Youth Forum for the second year running.  A £1000 neighbourhood fund grant was for the provision of healthy, positive and challenging activities over the summer holidays. The project saw young people develop their artistic and musical skills with guitar and art lessons.  They also went camping and enjoyed outdoor adventure including canoeing.  The activities helped to build self confidence, social skills and also gave the youngsters a chance to learn new …

On September 24th , residents of East Manchester jumped on board a bus and headed off to Blackpool for a day trip with support from Adactus Neighbourhood Fund. LinkEast good neighbour’s project supports local older and vulnerable people that live in East Manchester by providing group activities and befriending services to help reduce social isolation. Adactus tenants have helped allocate around £80,000 from the Group’s Neighbourhood Fund to 94 projects across Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire.  This year, the successful projects ranged from youth diversionary activities to healthy living to environmental improvements. £7,000 is still up for grabs and we are inviting bids of up to £1,000 from community projects in the Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire areas where Adactus tenants live.Andrew Coady, Community Engagement Manager said ‘this is our final push to allocate the Neighbourhood Fund this year.
