Local Miles Platting residents joined Adactus Staff, Local Councillors, Representatives from MCC and other partner organisations at the Miles Platting Community Library/Victoria Mill Hut to help celebrate the association’s 10th year anniversary of working in the neighbourhood.  The event was a huge success, with over 100 local residents and partners attending.  A time capsule was buried at 2:30pm followed by an array of fun activities for everyone there.   The burial spot for the time capsule was marked with a plaque and a cherry tree, which we hope …

On Sunday 23rd April 2017, Adactus Housing Association supported and celebrated Manchester’s St George’s Day Parade alongside thousands of the city’s residents. The parade, which started on Varley Street in Miles Platting boasted a colourful display of floats that had been decorated and supported by local community groups and organisations.  Professional dancers, performers and re-enactment groups entertained the crowds that lined the streets, cheering as the parade made its way into Piccadilly. The Adactus Breathe Team recently funded a three day ‘Introduction to Self-Employment’ Course in Leigh, Miles Platting and Chorley. The course was run by Banana Enterprise Network who are a leading provider of effective “Real World” pre-business start-up support at grass root level.  They support people who wish to take their first steps to exploring the idea of starting a business as a potential option for work. Residents and family joined in the 100th birthday celebrations of Mr ‘Bunny’ Johnson at Adactus Housings retirement living scheme, Ivy Court, Manchester recently. Eight out of 10 Mancunians now agree there is a shortage of affordable homes in Greater Manchester, new research revealed today as key local figures come together to push housing up the political agenda ahead of next month’s mayoral election.
