Four beehives have arrived at one of our sheltered schemes in Newton Heath which has created a buzz amongst residents. A resident contacted us with a buzzing idea which involved bringing bees to Keeley Close. The resident’s desire was to become a bee keeper and turn this project into a social enterprise. On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on Universal Credit met at our head office in Leigh to continue their scrutiny. The main purpose of the interim meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the interim report produced by our internal affairs team, and to challenge the findings. June saw Gorton residents come together to take part in workshops and find out more about Energy Advice and the Environment. Over 80 local people attended the event enjoying activities like making smoothies via pedal power, building bird feeders while learning about the different seeds and the various types of plants and flowers you can put in your garden or yard to support the environment.
