The Baptist Church on Lee Street, Atherton has benefited from a recent makeover to its kitchen.  The makeover was courtesy of local housing association, Adactus who own Ambergate, the sheltered housing scheme adjacent to the church. The new headquarters of Chorley Community Housing (CCH) are to be renamed Ann James House in memory of the Association’s founding chairwoman. CCH have taken the decision after finalising a deal to move from their current offices in Gillibrand Street to new premises in St Thomas’s Road, Chorley. Adactus Housing Group have announced plans to build 65 new homes in Sefton in partnership with Sefton Council. The plans, which cover the next four years, represent an overall investment of almost £8m in new housing in the borough and includes £2m of grant from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). A £1.5m development of flats for young homeless people in Lancaster has been completed by Adactus Housing Association. Mariners View consists of 11 self contained apartments and has been built by the Association in partnership with Lancaster City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Adactus and Great Places have brought together local residents to form a steering group in Moss Side. The Moss Side Community Allotment Association, made up of five members, has taken on responsibility of two plots on the Bowes Street allotment site.
