Chorley Community Housing

Chorley Community Housing completed a £350,000 makeover of the Greenside estate in Euxton, Chorley  in November 2012.  The occasion has been marked by the planting of a shrub by Lindsay Hoyle MP. Improvements to the estate include blocking up of unwanted ginnels, creating new front gardens for residents, improved street lighting and the provision of additional car parking. A derelict site which has lain empty for almost 40 years has been transformed by the completion of 18 new homes for rent in Birkdale by Adactus Housing Association. An eye catching development of new homes in Preston has been hailed a success. The 25 houses – at Crummock Road, Fishwick – have been built by Community Gateway Association in Preston.  The scheme, which cost £2.5m, replaces flats that had been built in the 1930s in a road formerly known as Patterdale Close. Adactus is the first housing association in the country to make a successful start on site claim under the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA) Affordable Homes Programme.
