Chorley Moor gets a ‘big tidy up’
A clean up of one of Chorley’s largest housing estates has been carried out by Chorley Community Housing (CCH) with support from local agencies and community members.
The event was run as part of the ‘Keep Britain Tidy – Big Tidy Up’ campaign and was funded via the CCH Neighbourhood Fund.
The CCH Neighbourhood and Grounds Maintenance Teams were assisted by Chorley Borough Council’s Street Scene and Neighbourhood Officers, fire safety checks were carried out and advice was given by Chorley Fire Service and Help Direct held a community drop-in at Liptrott Road Community House throughout the day.
During the event the streets were litter picked, sprayed with weed killer, ginnels were cleared and strimmed and an amazing ELEVEN 16 tonne skips were filled to the brim with waste from the estate.
Chris Richardson, NDO at CCH said “It was great to see so many of our tenants actively involved in making such a great improvement to their local community. It was also good to be able to bring a number of different local agencies together to make a combined effort on the day.”
