Chorley Moor set for big tidy up
A “Big Tidy Up” is planned for the Chorley Moor area on Wednesday 28th March 2012 from 9am to 2pm.
Chorley Community Housing (CCH) are urging residents to join in and make use of five 16 tonne skips that they will provide at a number of locations throughout the event. All skips will be staffed throughout the day and a limited amount of gloves, rubble sacks, brushes & shovels will be available on request from CCH staff members on the day.
The skips will be located on the corner of Grisedale Place / Crook Street, corner of Ullswater Road / Derwent Road, cut out on Buttermere Avenue and at the front of the Community House, 8 Liptrott Road.
Chris Richardson, Neighbourhood Development Officer at CCH said “The Big Tidy Up at Chorley Moor is being run as part of a nationwide ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ campaign and is being funded through our Neighbourhood Fund. We hope the whole community gets involved to make a real difference to the place they live.”
Chorley Borough Council will also be on hand to help with the removal of bulky items for those who are unable to do it unassisted. If you live in the Chorley Moor area and need help with the removal of a bulky item during the event then please contact Nick Halstead at CCH on 01257 244 800 (certain restrictions apply).
In addition to the tidy up activities, Help Direct are inviting residents to a drop in advice and guidance session at the Community House, which will run alongside the event.
