A “Big Tidy Up” is planned for the Chorley Moor area on Wednesday 28th March 2012 from 9am to 2pm. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) are urging residents to join in and make use of five 16 tonne skips that they will provide at a number of locations throughout the event. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) have moved from their former home on Gillibrand Street in Chorley to newly refurbished offices at Ann James House, 32 – 34 St Thomas’s Road. The move will take place on Friday 23rd March with CCH opening for business as usual on Monday 26th March at the new address. Our Maintenance Team has been shortlisted for the Maintenance Team of the Year category of the UK’s Housing Heroes Awards 2012 run by Inside Housing. The Housing Heroes Awards celebrate people and teams doing great work in the UK housing sector. Our entry centered on the positive performance of the responsive and servicing teams achieving efficiency savings through centralization and the use of technology. Paul Joyce a postgraduate student and chair of the board of Chorley Community Housing has helped his team win the BBC2 quiz show ‘University Challenge’. Paul was one of four students representing The University of Manchester in this year’s university challenge. Alongside students Luke Kelly, Michael McKenna and Tristan Burke, Paul Joyce helped beat five Oxbridge college teams to reach the winning post. Their team won the final against Pembroke College with 180 points against the 135 scored by Pembroke. …

Our efforts to reduce Adactus Housing Group’s impact to the environment have been officially recognised by the Carbon Trust. We have developed a plan to help reduce our carbon footprint by 25% over the next five years.
