The largest award made from the 2010 Adactus Housing Association Neighbourhood Fund grant was for £5,000 to Manchester Active Voices (MAV). Both North and South Manchester Area Panels jointly funded a 4 days Residential Leadership programme for 10 young people from Manchester in Cumbria. The Youth Empowerment Residential Programme which ran in July 2011, teaches young people the skills and resources they need to become effective leaders in their communities. Prospecting for oil normally takes place on the ocean floor or in far flung parts of the globe. But for residents of a sheltered housing scheme in Heath Charnock, near Chorley, the search for fuel only took them as far as their own back yard. The tenants’ group at Chorley Community Housing’s (CCH’s) scheme at Heathfields have their own meeting facilities. A video highlighting the achievements of Chorley Community Housing (CCH) was premiered at CCH’s annual general meeting held last week. It gives a short history of the Association and celebrates the completion of a £37m improvement programme, with almost 2,500 homes getting new kitchens and bathrooms. Chorley Community Housing (CCH) have pledged to back promotion winning Chorley Football Club for a second season. CCH has agreed to continue its gold sponsorship of the club for 2011/12. It comes on the back of a successful campaign which saw the Magpies promoted from the Evo-Stik League First Division North. Housing services in Miles Platting are getting better. That’s the message from Manchester City Council tenants after a survey revealed that 9 out of 10 tenants are satisfied with the service they get. The 1,500 homes are managed by the Renaissance Consortium on behalf of Manchester City Council.
