Adactus Housing Group have just launched the Adactus500, a new way for us to get regular feedback from residents on our services and plans for the future. Sheltered scheme residents from Leigh can now keep fit at their front room while having fun at the same time.   Adactus Housing Association in conjunction with Active Living from Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, have secured funding through the Supporting People fund to purchase a Wii console and a balance board to be available for residents at Pennington House in Leigh. Adactus Housing have recently implemented a 6 week training course delivered by our in house IT trainer Bill Smith, teaching tenants basic computer skills. Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning and can’t wait for the next part of the course, Surfing the internet.  One tenant participating in the scheme is nearly 94 years old and still learning! Adactus and Manchester City Council are working together to bring 11 derelict homes back into use in Harpurhey. In exchange for a below market rate price, Adactus will secure funding to transform the houses on Levens Street and Lakin Street into two and four-bedroom family homes. Although the properties had been renovated in the past for sale through shared ownership, they remained empty when the housing market collapsed and were the only long-term unoccupied properties on the estate.
