   Any group of residents can apply & they don’t need to be in a residents association. The maximum grants are £1000 for AHA, £500 for BHA and £250 for CCH.  Residents can apply for any type of project as long as it has a “green” theme. Previous grants have been awarded to garden makeovers, vegetable plots, recycling schemes, eco-art projects, tree planting & alley-greening. Evicted!  After four years of certain tenants committing persistent anti-social behaviour, Adactus Housing Association has taken possession of their property.  Neighbours had to endure vicious arguments, abusive behaviour and constant noise nuisance. One neighbour tried to build a friendly relationship with them and was reluctant to report their behaviour to us, but when the neighbour realised that they would not change their behaviour he began recording evidence which enabled us to obtain injunctions against them.  Adactus has launched ‘Connect’, a new Contact Centre at its Leigh headquarters. Connect will be used by over 10,000 tenants in the North West to report repairs, pay rent and discuss other housing issues.  Thirty staff are employed at Connect, including 13 new staff taken on in recent months which the company piloted a contact centre approach. Residents from Adactus’s sheltered Scheme, Victoria Court in Openshaw recently began a weekly intergenerational cooking project with local young people.  So far residents and children have come together to make pizzas and a hotpot together.  People aged from 8 – 91 are getting to know each other by participating in cooking and trying out each other’s games including bingo and Wii tennis!
