The City Council has been working closely with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) on the development of its plans to construct a new community campus on Birley Fields in Hulme. MMU has produced a development framework for the campus that has been approved in principle by the Council’s Executive. The University plans to transform Birley Fields into a lively place of education, with a new public square and shared community facilities on “the most sustainable campus in the UK”.
