Quality Streets - Official launch at 10:00 am on Monday 27th April at the Community House

  • Chorley Moor Residents Group have been chosen to pilot the first Quality Streets scheme in Chorley. This is an opportunity for local residents to get involved to improve the appearance of the local environment and tackle some of the issues on the estate.
  • Volunteers from the Residents Group, CCH staff, Chorley Council and Time bank will be carrying out a Street Audit on Chorley Moor Estate. This will involve identifying untidy gardens, damaged street furniture (lights, street signs etc), graffiti, fly tipping.
  • Partners will then take a lead on dealing with the problems identified and report back through the next bulletin.
  • CCH staff will also be carrying out the Annual Tenancy Audit as part of the Quality Streets scheme.
  • An important part of our scheme is to identify what is good and what is bad about the estate. Residents will be given cards to complete and return to the Resident Involvement team to let us know what they think and these will be entered in to a prize draw.
  • As part of Quality Streets scheme, the Community House, on Liptrott road will have a new back garden, a clean up will be held and there will be estate wide garden competitions.

The official launch will take place on Monday 27th April at 10:00 at the Community House. Also on the 27th the Council will be launching the Neighborhood Action Plan for the area in the morning at Community House. The mobile Fire Station will be on the estate near the Community House for residents to access fire safety information.
